We are proud to introduce Move Orthopaedics — a new chapter in orthopaedic care, built on the belief that movement is life.

Our team brings together three remarkable surgeons whose expertise covers the full spectrum of lower limb orthopaedics. Dr Peter Hardcastle and Dr Johann Groenewald specialise in hips and knees, with advanced experience in arthroplasty and arthroscopic surgery, while Dr Stefan Wever focuses on the foot and ankle, one of the most complex and intricate areas of movement.

Together, they represent a depth of expertise and an unwavering commitment to patient care. For Dr Wever, the story behind Move is deeply personal. “We created Move because we wanted to offer more than surgery. Move is about restoring confidence, independence, and the joy of living fully again.” The name reflects this purpose, Move is more than a title, it represents our mission to help patients take meaningful steps forward in every sense of the word.

That vision comes alive through the people who surround our surgeons. Our Patient Experience and Coordination team Melissa, Deidre, Sylvia, Angie, Kelly and Letitia are dedicated to ensuring that patients feel supported and cared for at every stage of their journey. As Melissa explains, “Move is about making sure every step of the process is smooth and that no patient ever feels lost in the system.” This commitment reminds us that exceptional orthopaedic care isn’t just what happens in theatre, but how supported patients feel throughout their recovery.

In theatre, Corali brings a sense of calm precision to every procedure, and in recovery, Maryka offers compassion and reassurance as patients take their first steps after surgery. Their skill and warmth embody the heart of Move’s philosophy: expertise delivered with humanity.
